Hello world!

Indeed Hello World!

Created in August 2011, it is only now that I have finally decided what this blog shall be about – my take and experiences with traditional Indian ethnic wear with my first focus on the Anarkali and Churidar. If time, opportunity and desire permit, I shall look at the saree and salwar kameez as subsequent projects once I have discussed this topic to its utmost detail!

I have always loved the grace and elegance of how this outfit looks and given my ballet training while growing up I have a somewhat unique mental association with the pointe shoes from ballet and the long flowy and flary look of the Anarkali.

What I hope to bring to this blog is my take on this style and I shall offer pictures, designs, and ideas and hopefully connect with fellow lovers of this ever so exquisite outfit.
